"We are very proud of the AEDO recognition as a testament of our first 25 years track record." - Enrique Esparza, Chairman of the Board, Tijuana EDC

Earning the AEDO accreditation is one of the highest recognitions in the Economic Development field. This accreditation tells the community and potential investors that Tijuana EDC is a professional organization they can trust to expand their business. To be accredited the Tijuana EDC went through a long review process that evaluated the organization's history, track record, processes and business practices. The 6-month review process ended with an onsite evaluation by two renowned professionals, Manuel Rubio Montoya, CEcD and Robert Gonzales, CEcD. During the site visit the evaluation team focused on key areas such as operations, processes, community collaboration and regional/bi-national partnerships.

The evaluators highlighted the Tijuana EDC's leadership in the CaliBaja Binational Megaregion program and the close collaboration with the San Diego Regional EDC and other San Diego organizations. During the visit, they praised the regional collaboration in investment attraction activities such as participation in international events like the Paris Air Show as well as joint awareness campaigns in Washington D.C. and Mexico City.

The accreditation plaque will be presented to the Tijuana EDC at IEDC's 2014 Leadership Summit that will take place February the 3rd in Irvine California. At the event the CEO of the Tijuana EDC, Flavio Olivieri will join a discussion panel about opportunities for U.S. companies in emerging markets. Mr. Olivieri is a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) by IEDC and has over 23 years of experience in US-Mexico business development.

In addition to the AEDO certification the Tijuana EDC is celebrating its 25th Anniversary. As part of the celebration the corporation unveiled a new corporate image that reflects the integration of the region as a platform for advanced manufacturing and global competitiveness. "We are very proud of the AEDO recognition as a testament of our first 25 years track record and we are excited about the next 25," said Enrique Esparza the incoming Chairman of the Board for 2014 and 2015.

The corporation updated its promotion materials as well, positioning Tijuana as one of Mexico´s top destinations for export manufacturing, being the number one in medical device manufacturing employment in North America, an Mexico´s top destination for medical device industry, number one in concentration of export manufacturing companies in Mexico, and the city with the largest number of aerospace and defense companies.
