How Can Chinese Businessmen Grab The Opportunities Offered By Mexico And The NAFTA Market?

How can Chinese businessmen grab the opportunities offered by Mexico and the NAFTA market? What are the advantages of manufacturing in Mexico? How can you take benefit from the free tariff system between Mexico and the USA?

The Consulate General of Mexico in Hong Kong and the Latin Department of the CWCC are pleased to announce the business seminar titled Think Opportunities - Think Mexico, aiming to provide information among the manufacturing community of the Pearl River Delta on the advantages of investing in Mexico´s attractive exporting platform for the NAFTA market. The NAFTA is a Free Trade Area formed by Mexico, the United States and Canada, with a market of 450 million people and $17 trillion in goods and services produced by the three countries, trading yearly around 1.2 trillion dollars.

The Government of Mexico has developed an integrated manufacturing and logistical hub within the Central and Northern regions of the country, specializing in technology driven automotive, electronics, aerospace, and I.T industries. Mexico´s geographical vicinity of 3,000 kms. with the United States, plus its rapid transformation during the last decades using a model of stability, structural reforms, and openness to the world with Free Trade Agreements that open up 46 country markets around the globe, has turned it into one of the most attractive emerging markets for investment and trade. Chinese and Hongkonese companies are already taking advantage of this, and today 74% of Mexico´s imports from China are intermediate goods, used to produce other content value and tech manufacturing products that are re-exported to other countries.

A free admission business seminar was held on Tuesday, December 8th, 2015, at the CWCC Shenzhen Office. The event was honored by the presence of Consul General of Mexico in Hong Kong, Ambassador Alicia Buenrostro Massieu, and the acting Consul General in Guanghzou, Mr. Alberto Limas.

The seminar included presentations from the Mexican Trade Commissioner for Guangdong and Hong Kong, Mr. Alejandro Casas; the Representative of the Secretary of the Economy of Mexico in Hong Kong, Mrs. Susana Muñoz; Mr. Javier Huerta, Manager of the Latin Department of CWCC Certified Public Accountants; and Mr. Thomas Wong, Chairman of the Americas Committee of the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce.
